At the Exploration of The Greenmarket attendees will acquire a greater understanding and appreciation of the local purveyors and farmers through an exclusive tour of Union Square's Greenmarket, followed by a two course Greenmarket inspired lunch.
Executive Chef, John Schaefer of Irving Mill restaurant in Union Square, will host the event for 4-Foodies members by giving them a private tour teaching attendees how to sort through the produce stations at the market, explaining which vegetables/fruits are now in season, and how to choose which ones to purchase.
Attendees at this event will meet Chef Schaefer in front of Irving Mill, and then proceed as a group to the Greenmarket. While scouting through the market, John will choose a variety of fresh ingredients, and use them to prepare a two course lunch. The menu for this lunch is going to be dependent on what is purchased that day.
